Eco-Intelligence Module

With the fast pace of 'eco' initiatives being launched in the UK, and in response to our clients' need to be one step ahead of competitors, Focal Research is developing a new Eco-Intelligence Module.  This Module collates 'green' information into one place for immediate access and ease of use and will, like all of our products, be continually updated for clients.  Development of the Module will take place over 3 phases, phase 1 of which is available now.

Phase 1 will provide you with access to maps and reports allowing you to generate target landlord lists, Phase 2 will enable you to link these lists to an automated mailing list facility and Phase 3 will complete our research into landlords' Sustainability and Environmental Strategies/Plans.

The new Eco-Intelligence Module will contain:-

  • A Climate Change Menu covering Government announcements and the timing of key legislation, plus executive summaries on relevant initiatives such as RHI, FITS, CESP and the future ECO.

  • Landlord Sustainability and Environmental Strategies/Plans to help you identify and understand each landlord’s stance on future green initiatives.  Phase 1 covers Housing Associations with more than 10,000 stock and will detail the document name and period covered i.e. 2010-2014, with an embedded website link for ease of access to the full document contents.  Phases 2 and 3 will then continue to collate the same details for Housing Associations with 5,000-9,999 stock and for all Local Authorities.

  • Centralised Contact Details for all key posts with ‘green/eco responsibilities’ in Local Authorities, ALMOs and Housing Associations including Energy Efficiency and Sustainability, as well as Heads of Housing and Maintenance.  These contact details will be found in one place for ease of reference for sales or marketing purposes.

  • An 'Off Grid' Map and set of reports showing you, by Local Authority area, the number of homes without mains gas supply.   These also include the location and quantity of stock owned by social housing landlords in each of these areas.  This will allow you to:

- Identify geographical areas with the greatest potential for alternative renewable heat products such as Ground Source and Air Source Heat Pumps, Biomass Boilers and Solar Thermal products, all of which are eligible for Renewable Heat Incentive Premium Payments, as well as for related products and services required in areas that are without mains gas supply.

- Identify and target social housing landlords holding the most stock in any particular off-grid Local Authority area.

- Quantify and target social housing landlords holding the most stock in any particular off-grid Local Authority area.

Furthermore, the maps and reports will also enable you to identify the opportunities for similar work to private dwellings, by Local Authority area.  Please note that the above steps can also be carried out using the data we hold on 'hard to insulate' (solid wall) properties.

  • A Solar PV Sustainability Map indicating areas of the country with the most sunshine hours, and therefore more suited to this technology, together with reports showing which social landlords have stock located in these Local Authority areas.  This will allow you to:

- Identify which areas, England-wide, offer the greatest opportunity for FITs/Solar PV related products and services.

- Decide, for yourselves, which of these areas to prioritise and to identify and target social housing landlords holding the most stock in these locations.

- Quantify which social housing landlords hold the greatest cumulative amount of stock across the total of priority Local Authority areas, on a largest to smallest basis.  Additionally, Phase 2 will see an automated mailing list connected to your target list of landlords.

  • Also included within our range of social housing databases is a monthly bulletin containing a dedicated Eco Section, specifically covering Green/Eco issues to ensure you stay up to date with emerging opportunities in the sector.

The above information is just a brief overview of the Eco-Intelligence Module. For further details of the content and how it can be of benefit please contact us. We can review your requirements and recommend which of our Market Intelligence Databases will be the most appropriate for you.
