Education Market Intelligence Database

The Education Market Intelligence Database tracks building-related funding streams for the education sector and provides full contact information for Local Education Authorities (LEAs), Academies, Further and Higher Education Institutes, Voluntary Aided schools and Specialist Inclusive Learning Centres.  Strategic information is also provided, detailing the Government's Investment Strategy and the major changes underway in the sector.

Local Education Authority Funding

There is a vast amount of funding currently being administered by Local Education Authorities with the Government intending to invest almost £3.5 Billion in Education works over the next few years.  The Database covers all relevant mainstream and additional funding for Secondary, Primary and Voluntary-aided schools.  Clients can view a report for each funding stream, detailing total allocations to date by Authority, alongside background and up-to-date narrative information.

Capital Maintenance Funding

Capital Maintenance funding has now been allocated for the improvement of the school estate with £858.2 million for Local Authority Maintained LEA Schools, £195.5 million for Voluntary Aided LEA Schools and £81.5 million for new Academies (for further details on Academies please see below).  The Education Market Intelligence Database provides you with 'push button' reports allowing you to view allocations for all Local Education Authorities receiving funding, allowing you to identify those LEAs that provide the greatest opportunity for your organisation.

Academies

Forming part of the Government's £3.5 Billion investment in Education works over the next few years, £800 million has been allocated to existing Academies under the Academies Framework with a further £81.5 million allocated under the 2011 - 2012 Academies Capital Maintenance Programme.

The Database tracks projects receiving investment under both funding streams.  Project costs, funding information, contract information and further narrative details are provided for schemes under the National Academies Framework while funding, number of projects and project type is given for those schemes funded under the Capital Maintenance Programme.  This data can also be generated in a report format providing you with a quick, simple yet comprehensive overview of Academy projects.

Building Schools for the Future

Despite the cancellation of the £55 billion Building Schools for the Future programme, there are still opportunities for organisations targeting the Education Sector.  Of the 1,592 schools involved in the scheme, a large number are likely to be completed with 624 projects set to go ahead (including 33 sample schools and 44 academies) and 75 designated by the government as under ‘Discussion’ until the Comprehensive Spending Review in October 2010. 159 schools opened under the BSF programme prior to its cancellation in July 2010.

The Education Market Intelligence Database provides a clear picture of the work remaining under the Buidling Schools for the Future programme, giving comprehensive details on all projects that have secured funding.  This information is also available in a summary report displaying the number of schools involved, amount of capital funding where known, current stage and the appointed contractor for each LEA carrying out BSF projects.
